Pick-up Procedures

For a smooth pick-up experience, please have the following ready:

1.Driver's License(For all drivers)（International drivers must present their Passport and International Driving Permit ( IDP).

2.Payment Info:

　Rental fees are to be paid before departure.

・Cash: A form of personal identification is required.

・QR code Payment: We accept contactless payment via QR code.

3.We will prepare the rental agreement before you depart. Please review the details, sign the document, and pay the estimated total.

On the road

Before departure, our staff will provide a brief overview of the vehicle's features.

Since you will be driving an unfamiliar vehicle, please exercise extra caution on the road.

Be Mindful of Vehicle Dimensions
Pay close attention to the differences in length, height, and width compared to the vehicle you usually drive.

Check Controls Before Driving
Familiarize yourself with the GPS, audio system, and climate control before you start. Even simple tasks can be distracting in an unfamiliar car, so please check them thoroughly.
In Case of Accident or Breakdown
In the unlikely event of an accident or vehicle failure, please contact the police immediately and then notify the pick-up branch.

Drive Safely & Follow the Rules

To ensure a safe return in an unfamiliar vehicle, please strictly adhere to all traffic regulations.

Fastern Seatbelts in All Seats!
Wearing seatbelts is mandatory for all passengers, including those in the rear seats.
No Illegal Parking
Illegal parking causes accidents and traffic congestion. Please always use designated parking areas.
No Mobile Phone Use While Driving!
Using a mobile phone while driving is a punishable offense. Please pull over to a safe area before using your phone.

Return Procedures

What to Check Upon Return

Upon your return, our staff will inspect the vehicle and proceed with the return process.

Rental vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
Please ensure you have not left any personal items inside the vehicle.
Our staff will inspect the vehicle for any new scratches or damage.
Any additional charges, such as overtime fees, will be calculated and settled at this time.

Insurance & Protection Plans

Regarding Illegal Parking

DO NOT Park Illegally！

Parking enforcement in Japan has become significantly stricter.

・Even if left for just a few minutes, your vehicle may be issued a "Parking Violation Sticker."

・Private enforcement companies are now contracted to carry out patrols and apply violation stickers.

If a parking Violation Sticker is Attached During the Rental Period

Please report to the police station indicated on the sticker immediately.
※We will contact you as soon as the police notify E CAR-Rental.
Complete the required procedures and pay the traffic fine.
Return the vehicle after completing the violation procedures.
（Please present the "Police documents"and "Receipt/Proof of payment" upon return.）

If you fail to complete the violation procedures

If the violation is not resolved by the time the vehicle is returned, you will be required to pay a Parking Violation Penalty of JPY ¥25,000(tax-exempt),as determined by our company.

If you fail to resolve the violation or pay the penalty

If you do not complete the procedures or pay the fine, we will immediately report the incident to the Police, Public Safety Commission, and the Rent-a-Car Association.Furthermore, your information will be shared within the association's network. This will result in being blacklisted from renting vehicles not only our company but also from all member rental companies nationwide.
IFyou report to the police and pay the fine after returning the vehicle, we will refund the penalty paid to us upon presentation of the "Traffic Violation Notice"and the"Receipt with a bank/post office date stamp"via the prescribed method.

Always use a designated parking lot, even if you only plan to stop for a short time.
